Something really exciting is happening!
From Saturday 25th- Sunday 26th August there’s going to be fundraising events for The Feminist Library which if you don’t know is an amazing archive collection of literature from the Women’s Liberation Movement. The Library is run entirely run by volunteers and is in serious need of more funding to save it from closure.
The weekend will start off with Girls Get Busy Zine Fest at The Shacklewell Arms (Shacklewell Lane, London E8 2EB)
On the Sunday there will be a fête at the library itself (5 Westminster Bridge Rd, SE1 7XW, Near Elephant and Castle and Waterloo) and I will be doing a poetry reading with Rachael Allen:( http://selectedpoems.wordpress.com/2011/09/18/selected-poet-4-rachael-allen-new-work/ http://clinicpresents.com/) which I’m really excited about. We’re also going to do a poetry workshop together which should be interesting.
Other events on Sunday are as follows:
* Booksale
* Agit Prop
* Food and cake stalls
* Tea, coffee and bar
* Kids’ Space with Activities and face-painting
* Film Screenings:
